The Gargano coast, particularly the stretch from Vieste to Mattinata, is one of the most stunning landscapes in Puglia: high white cliffs towering over the sea, with pine trees, brooms, and rockroses extending over the turquoise waters. These are interspersed with small coves and beaches of pristine white pebbles, accessible only by sea.
The Sea Caves
There are about twenty sea caves, discovered in 1954 by two fishermen (the Trimigno brothers).
According to legends, like that of Pizzomunno, the sea caves are nothing but the hiding places of the sirens: it is here that these terrifying figures, with their enchanting songs, would imprison young girls they were jealous of with chains.
You can book your half-day motorboat excursion directly at the resort. It’s an excursion suitable for everyone—just bring a hat and sunscreen!!!
